Late in the first half, the Tottenham striker latched on to a Guillermo Ochoa pass and with a perfect cross set up Carlos Vela. Giovani then opened the second half by scoring twice in the span of two minutes. Finally, a pair of substitutes linked up for the fourth goal, as Omar Bravo set up Omar Arellano for his first international goal. Mexico plays another friendly on American soil against Guatemala on Sunday in San Diego.
