D.C. United will meet Carmel United in Thursday's U-17/18 championship match at U.S. Soccer Development Academy's  Finals Week being held at the Home Deport Center (TV: ESPN Classic, live, 7 pm PT10 pm ET).

D.C. defeated PDA, 5-1, getting a pair of goals from Michael Funes and Chris Hegngi, to jump from third to first place in Group 2 when Real Colorado fell to CASL Chelsea FC Academy, 2-0.

Andy Najarchipped in with his fourth goal of Finals Week for the MLS academy team.

Carmel, last year's U-15/16 champion, clinched the Group 1 title with a 3-3 tie with the IMG Soccer Academy.

IMG needed to win in order to over the Indiana club and it stormed out to a 2-0 lead before Carmel came back.

Substitute Austin Oldham made an immediate impact for Carmel, scoring in the 35th minute. In the second half, Matthew Sanner twice scored on passes from Harrison Petts.
