The Cal Odyssey, the No. 31 seed when the U-15/16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy playoffs began, advanced to Friday's final against the top-seed Derby County Wolves (TV: ESPN Classic, 7 pm PT/10 pm ET), earning a 1-1 tie with Washington Premier Thursday at the Home Depot Center to clinch the Group 2 crown.

The Fresno area club had earlier won its first two matches at Finals Week, so it only needed a tie to advance. Jose Segura's penalty kick gave the Odyssey its only goal of the game.

In Group A, the Wolves, who had already wrapped up first place, fell to the New York Red Bulls, 2-0. In the other game, FC Dallas came from two goals down to tie Chicago Magic AS Monaco, 2-2.

FC Dallas star Brian Leyva is the Finals Week leading scorer with four goals.
