by Mike Woitalla, August 10th, 2009 6:45AM

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Striker Kenny Cooper scored 17 minutes into his debut with German Second Division club 1860 Munich, which opened the season with a 2-0 win over TuS Koblenz. "The Ami was simply Super," according to German daily Bild.

Cooper, who was subbed in the 72nd minute, managed eight shots on goal, the successful one coming when he headed home a cross from Florin Lovin.

Cooper, who arrived from FC Dallas, received high praise from teammates. "An extraordinary debut," said keeper Gabor Kiraly. "Impressive how hard Kenny works," said captain Benny Lauth, who scored the team's second goal in the 62nd minute.
