[COLLEGE] Harvard's Andre Akpan, a 2007 selection to Soccer America's MVPs first team and 2008 pick to the MVPs second team, heads the Soccer America Men's Preseason All-American team, as selected by its editors.

Akpan is one of eight 2008 MVPs second-team picks selected to the 2009 Preseason All-American team.

UIC goalie Jovan Bubonja, a member of the 2009 Preseason All-American team, was a 2007 MVPs second-team pick.
