Pachuca and Saprissa Post First CL Wins

Mexico's Pachuca, for which U.S. midfielder Jose Francisco Torres went the full 90, and Saprissa of Costa Rica both posted convincing wins in the group stage of the Concacaf Champions League on Tuesday. Ulises Mendivil scored either side of halftime in Pachuca's 5-0 win over Metapan of El Salvador in Group A. In Group C, Saprissa fell behind to the USL's Puerto Rico Islanders before rallying to win 3-1. Pachuca and Saprissa both have three points from their first two games after both lost their first match of the competition.
