Andriy Shevchenko's disappointing three-year stint with Chelsea is almost over. Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed Friday that the striker will leave before the transfer window closes next week.

"Shevchenko will decide to return to go to play in another team," Ancelotti said. "I spoke with Shevchenko and he would like to play with continuity. Here for me it is difficult to give him this possibility to play a lot of matches and I think he will take the right decision for him."

The former European Player of the Year failed to make an impact in the Premier League despite costing a club-record $56 million when he joined from AC Milan. The 32-year-old has been linked with a return to Dynamo Kiev, where he started his career.
