[UNDER-20 WORLD CUP] After the University of Denver's Sam Garza, Anthony Wallace of FC Dallas has also been scratched from the U.S. roster for the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt because of a knee injury. Wallace has been replaced on the U.S. roster by Gerson Mayen. Jorge Flores, Mayen's Chivas USA teammate, will probably move into Wallace's left back spot. Garza had been replaced by Hertha Berlin's Bryan Arguez.

Wallace was one of only two holdovers from the 2007 team that reached the quarterfinals of the U-20 World Cup. UCLA goalie Brian Perk is the other.

The USA is preparing for the U-20 World Cup with a training camp in Cyprus. Its opening game against Germany is scheduled for Sept. 26.
