When Wayne Rooney steps on the field for Manchester United in Wednesday's European Champions League clash it will mark his 50th UEFA competition game. (He's scored 16 times.) The factoid is part of UEFA.com's "By the Numbers" preview of Champions League Game Day 2, which begins on Tuesday.

The odds look good that Rooney will be celebrating after No. 50; Man U has not lost at home in 21 UEFA Champions League matches, dating back to 1-0 loss to AC Milan in February 2005.

On Tuesday, Barcelona hosts Dynamo Kiev, which must cope with red-hot Swedish striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the offseason arrival from Inter Milan who has scored in each of Barcelona's first five La Liga games of the season.
