[MLS] Real Salt Lake needed a win against the already-eliminated New York Red Bulls to stay in playoff contention and with 10 minutes left veteran Andy Williams delivered by volleying home a Robbie Findley cross. Fabian Espindola secured a 2-0 win for Salt Lake with a 90th minute strike. The win further tightens the playoff race.

Real's last league game was 18 days ago, and it was winless in its last three outings. Williams came on as a sub 18 minutes before his goal.

Real, which is now just one point behind New England for the final playoff spot, outshot New York 21-6 and Real keeper Nick Rimando had to make only one save to counterpart Danny Cepero's eight.
