[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] The 2009-10 UEFA Champions League continues with Day 4 and the second of back-to-back games. They include a match between Real Madrid and AC Milan, Kaka's first at the San Siro since joining the Merengues, and games involving French clubs Lyon and Bordeaux, which will look to sweep Liverpool and Bayern Munich, respectively. For a look at three key matches ...
AC Milan-Real Madrid (Wednesday). Kaka returns to the San Siro for the first time since leaving Milan for Real Madrid.
"For what happened in the last few years, I expect a good welcome," said the Brazilian, who helped Milan win the 2007 Champions League. "But tomorrow will be a difficult game."
Milan won the first game, 3-2, in Madrid and is coming off a 2-0 win over Parma in Serie A. Of note was one of the strongest performances of the season by Kaka's countryman, Ronaldinho. "I am managing to make lots of assists because it is a good period for me but I also want to score goals," said Ronaldinho. "This year is easier for me as I've learned the language. Tomorrow I expect a great Champions League night."

Lyon-Liverpool (Wednesday). Liverpool will be without star Steven Gerrard, among others, at the Stade Gerland. The Reds, who have lost six of their last seven games in all competitions, are riddled with injuries. Spain striker Fernando Torres has a muscle injury but will probably play. "We have to take Fernando to Lyons because we don't have too many options," said Reds manager Rafael Benitez.
Lyon will clinch a spot in the round of 16 with a victory. France forward Sidney Govou is back in favor and should join Argentine Lisandro Lopez and Brazilian Michel Bastos in the front three.

Bayern Munich-Bordeaux (Tuesday). Bayern lost, 2-1, in Bordeaux and is battling injuries. Frenchman Franck Ribery and Croat Ivica Olic are out, while Belgian defender Daniel van Buyten and young star Thomas Mueller are serving suspensions. Dutch star Arjen Robben has rejoined the team but won't start. "Perhaps he will come on for 30 to 35 minutes and get a goal for us," said a hopeful Bayern coach Louis van Gaal.
Bordeaux, the defending French champion, is back on top in Ligue 1. It's been boosted by the return of playmaker Yoann Gourcuff, who was excellent in Bordeaux's 1-0 win over Monaco on Saturday. "As preparation for a Champions League game goes," said Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc, "that was good but Tuesday is another competition altogether."
