[WORLD CUP 2010 QUALIFYING] Long before Algeria's bus was attacked after the team's arrival in Cairo, the deciding Egypt-Algeria game was going to be one of the most intensely followed qualifiers in recent history. The game did not disappoint in terms of drama as a goal by Emad Meteab five minutes into stoppage time allowed the Pharaohs to win, 2-0, and forced a playoff game Wednesday in Sudan.
Amr Zaky had given Egypt the lead in the second minute, but a one-goal win would have given the Algerians the group title on goal difference.
The two sides will play again Wednesday in Sudan, with the winner advancing to the finals in South Africa next year.
Meteab's goal set off wild celebrations in Cairo.
