Frias steps down as Nevada coach

[COACHING MOVES] Jaime Frias has stepped down as Nevada women's coach after two years for family reasons.

This season, Nevada set a school record for the most WAC wins in a season with a 5-3 mark. The Wolf Pack also tied the longest win streak in program history with five consecutive victories.

Frias previously spent three seasons as coach at Stephen F. Austin.

Frias came on board in 2008, a year after Terri Patraw was fired as Nevada coach. She later filed a much-publicized lawsuit against UNR, alleging she as fired for reporting Title IX and NCAA violations. That suit was dismissed by a Washoe district judge in May.

"My family has decided to move to Virginia," said Frias. "My wife has accepted a job closer to her home, and it is a great move for my family. I'm grateful for the opportunity given to me by Cary and her administration at the University of Nevada. This is a place I truly believe in, and I know the Wolf Pack soccer program will have continued success in the near future. I am confident I have laid a good foundation, and I'm extremely happy with where the program is today."
