Arizona promotes Oyen to head coach

[COACHING MOVES] Arizona promoted assistant coach Lisa Oyen to head coach, succeeding veteran coach Dan Tobias, who left in the middle of the 2009 season.

"I'm very thankful to be given this opportunity," Oyen said, "and I'm very optimistic about the future of this program. With our returning players and the incoming class we have every reason to look forward to the near and distant future."

Arizona was one of only two Pac-10 teams not to make the 2009 NCAA Tournament.

Oyen served as a top assistant under Tobias for each of her eight years at UA and as an assistant under Tobias at Washington State from 2001-02.
