Most of American defender Jonathan Spector's time is usually spent in his own penalty area so it was a change to see him in the opposition penalty area. Making his first start for West Ham United in three weeks, Spector was taken down by Burnley's Robbie Blake for a penalty that led to the Hammers' fourth and decisive goal in their 5-3 win on Saturday. West Ham led 5-0 before Burnley rallied for three late goals. In other action on Saturday, Michael Bradley's Borussia Moenchengladbach won 1-0 over Schalke 04, while Clint Dempsey's Fulham, Brad Friedel's Aston Villa and Jozy Altidore's Hull City (at Manchester City) tied.
