[SPAIN] Lionel Messi, the 2009 Golden Ball winner, will miss Sunday's Catalan "Derbi" between La Liga leader and city rival Espanyol after suffering a Grade 2 sprained right ankle in Barca's 2-1 Champions League win at Dynamo Kiev. The injury also makes the Argentine doubtful for Wednesday's match in the semifinals of the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi.

Messi was injured on a foul by Kiev defender Leandro Almeida in stoppage time, the last in a series of fouls on the Barca star.

Barcelona plays the winner of Saturday's game between Atlante of Mexico and Auckland City of New Zealand.
