The 2009 Soccer America Freshman of the Year is Boston College's Victoria DiMartino, who follows in the footsteps of older sisters Christina and Gina, who earned Soccer America All-Freshman honors for UCLA in 2005 and Boston College in 2006, respectively, and such women's greats as Brandi Chastain (1986), Kristine Lilly (1989) and Tiffeny Milbrett (1990) who were Soccer America Freshmen of the Year.

Victoria DiMartino led the Eagles in scoring with 14 goals and six assists for 34 points and helped them earn a share of the ACC regular-season title and a place in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the first time.
