DaMarcus Beasley says he could play in Sunday's Old Firm derby for Rangers against Celtic, the biggest game in Scottish soccer. Beasley, whose excellent form in recent weeks led to talk of a possible return to the U.S. national team, missed Sunday's game against Hibernian after straining a thigh muscle in training but said Monday the injury was not as bad as first thought.
Rangers manager
Walter Smith had thought Beasley would sidelined for up to three weeks.
Beasley wrote on
Twitter that "the injury is not as bad as we thought. With rest and extra treatment hope to be back by the end of the week! Fingers crossed!"
Rangers leads Celtic by four points.
