[STANFORD WOMEN] When the
USA faces Mexico Monday at the Concacaf Under-20 Championship in
Guatemala City, it will be a reunion for three starters on 2009 NCAA
Division I runner-up Stanford.
Defender Rachel Quon and
playmaker Teresa Noyola, a
sophomore from Palo
Alto, will be
playing for the USA, while Alina
Garciamendez, a freshman from Dallas, will play for Mexico
Garciamendez played for Mexico at the Under-20 Women's World Cup. The
Mexican-born Noyola previously represented the USA at the U-14 to U-20
levels andcompeted for the
USA at the 2007 Pan-American Games in Brazil.
Other U.S. collegians on Mexico's U-20 team include Monica Alvarado of Mississippi State
and Angelica Figueroa of Pacific.
