Cameroon coach under fire

Cameroon struggled to reach the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations, increasing the pressure on French coach Paul Le Guen, who only months earlier was hailed for leading the Lions from last place to first in their World Cup qualifying group.

Cameroon drew with Tunisia, 2-2, on Thursday to finish second in its group and must face two-time defending champion Egypt in Monday's quarterfinals. Le Guen was criticized for fielding aging stars Rigobert Song, Geremi Njitap and Achille Emana for the first game, a 1-0 loss to Gabon.

Le Guen dropped them for the deciding game against Tunisia, but Song had to be brought on to shore up the backline that struggled against the Eagles of Carthage. Once again, Le Guen must shoulder the blame for a poor performance.
