Mexico City police are looking for two men in connection with the shooting of Club America star Salvador Cabanas, who is in a serious but stable condition after being shot in the head inside a Mexico City bar early Monday morning.
The suspects are Sinaloan Jose J. Balderas Garza, nicknamed El Modelo and a regular at the Bar Bar club, and his bodyguard. They were at the club at the same time as Cabanas, his wife and brother-in-law.
Police are looking into whether a dispute between Balderas and Cabanas' brother-in-law over a Cuban dancer at the club led to the shooting, which took place in the bathroom, where the bodyguard followed Cabanas. Balderas was already in the bathroom.
