[WPS] Now that it has landed the No. 1 pick in Thursday's dispersal draft of players from the defunct Los Angeles Sol, who will the the St. Louis Athletica take? Logic would dictate that Brazilian superstar Marta would be reunited with Athletica head coach Jorge Barcellos, the former Brazil national team coach. But Marta (and her huge salary) may be held out of the draft by the league, in which case U.S. midfielder Shannon Boxx would be the probable No. 1 pick.

The Athletica acquired the first pick after sending three players to the Atlanta Beat: defender Kia McNeill, midfielder Angie Kerr (Woznuk), the rights to third-round draft choice Amanda Poach, as well as Athletica's second-round draft choice in the dispersal draft (ninth overall).

St. Louis will gain Atlanta's No. 1 overall draft pick in the dispersal draft, as well as the Beat's second-round pick in the 2011 WPS Draft.

"We were presented with an opportunity to make our club better," said Barcellos. "We gave up some talented young players to do this. I want to thank Kia and Angie for the hard work that they did last season. They were a big part of the success that the Athletica enjoyed in our first year."
