'Chicharito' gets Mexico callup

[WORLD CUP COUNTDOWN] Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, the new darling of Mexican soccer, headlines the team of 18 players -- all domestically based -- Mexican national team Coach Javier Aguirre named for the upcoming international match on Wednesday at Candlestick Park in San Francisco against Bolivia.

"Chicharito" ("Little Pea") has eight goals already for Guadalajara, which set a Mexican league record for the most consecutive victories to start the season, winning its sixth game with a 1-0 victory over Pachuca and surpassing the mark set by Club America, which won its first five matches in 2002 before tying its sixth.

Other Mexican stars called up include former Chicago Fire star Cuauhtemoc Blanco, Gerardo Torrado and Jonny Magallon.

The game in San Francisco kicks off Mexico's six-city tour that will also visit Los Angeles, Charlotte, New York, Chicago and Houston ending on May 13.
 
Bolivian coach Eduardo Villegas' squad includes former MLS midfielder Joselito Vaca, and 17-year-old Samuel Galindo, who was recently signed by Arsenal.
