[ALGARVE CUP] The USA got outstanding games from Lauren Cheney, Casey Nogueira and Lori Lindsey and beat Sweden, 2-0, to move into Wednesday's final against Germany at the Algarve Cup in Portugal.

Cheney came off the bench to score her second and third goals of the tournament, Nogueira was the instigator on both Cheney goals, and Lindsey, who entered the tournament with only one cap, added her third assist in three games.

The victory puts the USA into its Algarve Cup final for the eighth year in a row.

Germany won Group A with a 5-0 victory over China that increased its scoring margin to 16-0 in three games.

t; Sw eden, needing to win to advance to the final, had the better of play in the first half, but the Americans took control after halftime when U.S. coach Pia Sundhage shifted her lineup, bringing on Carli Lloyd, Cheney and Nogueira.

The changes paid quick dividends in the 56th minute when Nogueira's through ball found the sprinting Cheney, who rounded Swedish keeper Hedvid Lindahland and slotted her shot into the open net from a sharp angle.

The USA sealed the game with just three minutes left when Nogueira again found Cheney, who played a give-and-go with Lindsey and blasted a 20-yard shot past Lindahl.

It marked Cheney’s first two-goal game for the full national team
