Another Mexico game and another goal for 21-year-old star Javier Hernandez. Carlos Vela, the Tri's other young star, also came off the bench and added a second goal three minutes later to give Mexico a 2-0 win over New Zealand before a sellout crowd of 90,526 at the Rose Bowl.

Afterwards, Rafael Marquez, Mexico's captain in the last two World Cups, said he believed Mexico will do well at the 2010 World Cup. "Realistically, I think the team can go really far," he said. "We have that hunger, that desire. It's the mental aspect we have to work on. A quality soccer team we have. We just have to work on the mental toughness."

While Marquez, Vela and the other European-based players return to their clubs, Mexico continues its marathon warmup tour March 24 against Iceland at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium.
