South Africa needed a 70th-minute goal from striker Katlego Mphela to earn a 1-1 tie with Namibia -- ranked 109th in the world -- in Durban but Carlos Alberto Parreira says there is no need to panic that the World Cup hosts couldn't beat a team that included teachers and part-time professionals.
"It is always better to win," the Brazilian said, "but this draw is not the end of the world as we will not face sides like Namibia in the World Cup." Huh?
Parreira meant that World Cup opponents Mexico, France and Uruguay won't defend with 10 men behind the ball like the Brave Warriors did. "It will be totally different."
