[FRANCE] Montpellier missed a chance to tie first-place Bordeaux in Ligue 1 when it had to settle for a 1-1 tie with the defending champions after missing two penalty kicks. On the second penalty, Colombian Victor Hugo Montano started toward the ball, stopped and then faked out keeper Cedric Carrasso -- only to fake out one of his teammates as well. The goal was called off for encroachment and Montano hit his second attempt right at Carrasso.

The Inte rnational Board postponed taking action on broken runs like Montano made.

Brazilian Alberto Costa missed the first penalty kick five minutes earlier but tied the score four minutes into stoppage time when Carrasso let his free kick slip past minute.

Moroccan Marouane Chamakh has put Bordeaux ahead after 59 minutes.

Bordeaux leads by three points and has two games in hand.
