An England team meeting at its hotel before last Wednesday's 3-1 win over Egypt was recorded by spies and the English FA is launching an investigation into how the bug was planted in the room. The "spies" are believed to have a six-hour recording and FA lawyers have moved to block any publication of the material, claiming a flagrant breach of privacy law.
While England coach Fabio Capello hoped the win at Wembley had brought a scandal-ridden few weeks to a more positive conclusion, he'll now be bracing himself for yet more controversy. It has been suggested that England players are heard discussing bonuses they want for doing well in South Africa. And there is speculation that players are heard joking about sex scandals. Capello is also said to have discussed tactics.
