[MLS] A goal by Geoff Cameron just three minutes after he entered the game as a late substitute enabled Houston to down in-state rival Austin Aztex of the USSF D2 Pro League, 1-0, Sunday afternoon in Austin.

Cameron got his foot to a loose ball in the Austin goalmouth after the defense failed to clear a Corey Ashe corner kick. Cameron and Ashe had entered the game together to conjure up the goal in the 84th minute. Goalie Tally Hall saved from Michael Callahan in stoppage time to deny Austin an equalizer.

Dynamo coach Dominic Kinnear used a mix of regulars and backups in a second meeting of the teams recently: they tied, 1-1, in Houston March 7.

Hall, Erik Ustruck , Craig Waibel , Wade Barrett , Danny Cruz, Sammy Appiah, Francisco Navas Cobo and Luis Angel Landín played the full 90 minutes; Adrian Serioux, a member of the Dynamo’s 2006 championship team who rejoined Houston early last week in a trade with Toronto FC, played 76 minutes as a starter prior being to be replaced by Ryan Cochrane.

Houston concludes its preseason schedule with a trip to California to play San Jose Wednesday in San Francisco and at Chivas USA Saturday .
