[AMERICANS ABROAD] Alejandro Bedoya, who has come out of nowhere to become a candidate for the U.S. World Cup team, started for Orebro in Monday's 2-0 loss to Mjaellby at home in Sweden's Allsvenskan.

The only other Americans in Sweden's top division this season are former Notre Dame teammates Ryan Miller and Micheal Thomas at Halmstad and former Bolton Wanderers and Toronto FC forward Johann Smith at Kalmar.

Miller and Smith played this past weekend.
