[WORLD CUP COUNTDOWN] Considering how poorly it has played in friendly matches over the last year, Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira's praise for South Africa's Bafana Bafana after its 1-1 tie with Paraguay in Asuncion on Wednesday was understandable.

Siphiwe Tshabalala had the second-half equalizer for  South Africa, which has been training in Brazil.

"We are the Lion Kings," said Parreira. "We never give up. We were the better team in the second half and could have won."

Both teams were playing without their foreign-based stars.

South Africa's last game before returning home will be Saturday against Santos of Brazil.

Bafana Bafana's next training camp will take place April 13-28 in Germany.
