[MLS NUMBERS] North Carolina product Zack Schilawski, who played his college ball at Wake Forest, became only the third player in MLS history to hit a hat trick during his rookie season when he helped New England down Toronto FC, 4-1, on Saturday. One of the other rookie hat trick heroes was also a Rev.

Pat Noonan scored three for New England against the Metrostars on Oct. 25, 2003. The third to pull off the feat was Brian Maisonnueve, for Columbus on Sept. 6, 1996.

Schilawski, who turns 23 on April 15, was the ninth overall pick in the 2010 SuperDraft. At Wake Forest, he scored 40 goals and made 20 assists in four seasons, leading the team his senior year with 14 goals.
