[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Cruz Azul scored twice in the first 23 minutes, but American Jose Francisco Torres' Pachuca recovered and reduced the final score in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions League final in Mexico City to 2-1.

Emanuel Villa gave Cruz Azul the lead in the 19th minute and an own goal by Carlos Rodriguez made it 2-0 four minutes later, but Damian Alvarez scored for Pachuca, winner of two of the last three Concacaf titles, in the 69th minute.

Torres played the entire game in midfield.

The second leg will be played on April 28 in Pachuca.

The winner advances to the 2010 Club World Cup.
