Cameroon picks veterans Eto'o, Song and Geremi

[WORLD CUP COUNTDOWN] Veterans Samuel Eto'o, Rigobert Song, a holdover from the 1994 World Cup team, and Geremi Njitap head Cameroon's preliminary squad of 30 players picked by Frenchman Paul Le Guen for the World Cup.

Defenders Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Sebastien Bassong, who both played roles in Tottenham's run to fourth place in the English Premier League, were called up.

Cameroon Roster:
Goalkeepers: Hamidou Souleymanou (Kayserispor), Idriss Carlos Kameni (Espanyol), Guy Ndy Assembe (Valenciennes), Amour Patrick Tignyemb (Bloemfontein Celtic).
Defenders: Jean Patrick Abouna Ndzana (Astres de Douala), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (Tottenham), Sebastien Bassong (Tottenham), Gaetan Bong (Valenciennes), Aurelien Chedjou (Lille), Geremi Njitap (Ankaragucu), Stephane Mbia (Marseille), Makadji Boukar (Al Nahdha), Nicolas Nkoulou (Monaco), Rigobert Song (Trabzonspor).
Midfielders: Marcel Ndjeng (Augsburg), Enoh Eyong Tarkang (Ajax), Jean II Makoun (Lyon), Georges Mandjeck (Kaiserslautern), Joel Matip (Schalke 04), Patrick Mevoungou (Canon Yaounde), Landry Nguemo (Celtic), Alexandre Song (Arsenal).
