Dutch confirm van Nistelrooy's exclusion

[WORLD CUP COUNTDOWN] Dutch national team coach Bert van Marwijk's 30-player provisional roster for the World Cup contained no surprises.

Ruud van Nistelrooy's bid for an international comeback had ended when he was not included in list of players released last week for this week's training camps that Oranje World Cup hopefuls.

Two newcomers picked: Jeremain Lens, 22, from AZ Alkmaar and Ajax's Curacao-born Vurnon Anita, 21.

Experienced FC Twente goalie Sander Boschker got the nod over Vitesse goalkeeper Piet Velthuizen.

The Dutch squad includes 17 domestic-based players, though Wout Brama was only player from champion FC Twente besides Boschker called up.

Netherlands Roster:
Goalkeepers: Sander Boschker (FC Twente), Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax), Piet Velthuizen (Vitesse), Michel Vorm (FC Utrecht).
Defenders: Khalid Boulahrouz (VfB Stuttgart), Joris Mathijsen (Hamburg), Andre Ooijer (PSV), Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Feyenoord), Gregory van der Wiel (Ajax), Ron Vlaar (Feyenoord).
Midfielders: Ibrahim Afellay (PSV), Vurnon Anita (Ajax), Otman Bakkal (PSV), Edson Braafheid (Celtic), Wout Brama (FC Twente), Demy de Zeeuw (Ajax), Orlando Engelaar (PSV), John Heitinga (Everton), Nigel de Jong (Manchester City), Stijn Schaars (AZ), David Mendes da Silva (AZ).
Forwards: Ryan Babel (Liverpool), Eljero Elia (Hamburg), Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool), Robin van Persie (Arsenal), Jeremain Lens (AZ).

    This roster is only a list of those going to upcoming camps. Sneijder, Robben, and VanBommel had conflicts with continued club play. VanderVaart is injured. Thus explains the missing superstars.....except Huntelaar....maybe he's still playing, too.
