Chivas Guadalajara reached the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores after a 2-0 loss at Paraguay's Libertad gave the Mexican club a 3-2 aggregate win. California-born Miguel Angel Ponce was a 73rd minute sub for Chivas.
Adalberto Roman opened the scoring for Libertad in the 20th minute and Manuel Macias added a second in the 68th, but Chivas hung on for the win on aggregate. Chivas was without five first-choice players who are in World Cup training camp with the Mexican national team.
