Ban the damn things permanently, their hideous (Sepp) Blattering and blaring is ruining the entire World Cup.

I've noticed a huge decrease in them during the broadcasts for the 2nd round. Whether it's ESPNs sound editing or the fans themselves, I could actually hear the argentinean and england fans singing. Good stuff all around.

I love the vuvuzelas; they create a really charged atmosphere, sort of like the drums at matches involving Brazil. If you're going to ban vuvuzelas, you should ban the drums, too. And those trumpets some people bring to MLS games. Probably would be easiest if we just made the stands a "quiet zone." Then, soccer would be more like cricket, the world's most popular game.

Really? Who has the right to deny it's people to express themselves in their own way as long as they aren't intentionally trying to harm others? Every country expresses their excitement in their own ways including yes drums, trumphets and singing. So if you haven't noticed the players have no diffficulty hearing the refs or their coaches messages. So get over it and enjoy the game, I can watch a game without sound and understand the game enough to know what's going on.

It is hard for any objective observer not to agree that the vuvuzelas are a problem at this world cup. Perhaps it is because of the large numbers of them, the sound frequency of their noise, their lack of rhythm or melody, or the fact that the noise is continuous, but the vuvuzelas are far more annoying than fan singing, a few drummers, or a rare horn. If the SAfricans must have their vuvuzelas, so be it. Maybe they can not sing or beat a rhythm on a drum. But vuvuzelas should be banned at world cup finals on other continents.
