FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke said Saturday that the issue of adidas' Jabulani match ball and complaints about the ball being unpredictable will be addressed after the tournament. “We’re not deaf,” Valcke said. “FIFA is not unreceptive about what has been said about the ball. This is a very different ball perhaps.”

Players and coaches, mostly from adidas rivals, have complained about the ball manufactured by the German company that has suppled the World Cup ball since the 1970 tournament.

Adidas said any problems with the flight of the ball have nothing to do with the Jabulani. Teams signed off on the ball in February. “Our relationship with adidas is very constructive and there is nothing more important in a World Cup than the ball,” Valcke added. “If there are problems with the ball we will discuss it with them.”
