[MLS]The 2010 season saw an influx of Salvadoran internationals reminiscent of the early days of MLS. But the recent imports haven't lasted long. As the July 1 date upon which all player contracts are guaranteed for the season approached, three of MLS's five Salvadoran imports were released.

Cristian Castillo(D.C. United) and Julio Martinez (Chicago), who arrived this season, and Ramon Sanchez (San Jose), who signed in 2009, were all released.

That leaves only Osael Romero (Chivas USA) and Deris Umanzor (Chicago) in MLS, though neither player has played much. Romero has played 259 minutes in 14 games, while Umanzor has played 174 minutes in 12 matches.

Raul Diaz Arce and Mauricio Cienfuegos, signed for MLS's first season, rank among the best foreign signings in MLS history, Ronald Cerritos enjoyed a successful MLS career that spanned a decade. Midfielder Jorge Rodriguez was a standout at Dallas.

In other player moves, Chivas USA released Costa Rican midfielder Jose Macotelo and Brazilian forward Maicon Santos

Kansas City reacquired Jamaican international defender Shavar Thomas from expansion Philadelphia Union.

Columbus waived Colombian forward Sergio Herrera.
