[REACTION] Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque says the key to his team's 1-0 win over Germany was that the Germans didn't put his team under pressure. He went on to say the Germans weren't as good as expected.
“Today we weren’t pressured as much as we were against Paraguay and Chile,” said Del Bosque of Spain's two previous opponents in the knockout phase. “I think that if we’re comfortable with the ball, we don’t suffer. Those other teams made us suffer a lot, closing us down, pressing and not letting us play.”
Del Bosque says his players are to be credited for shutting down the high-scoring Germans.
“We can say that Germany wasn’t as good as we’d expected, but that’s thanks to the excellent work of our team,” he added. “We were better than them in the overall count and we played the way we like to play.”
