Forlan and Mueller capture top prizes

[AWARDS] Uruguay's Diego Forlan has won the adidas Golden Ball as the MVP of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and German Thomas Mueller won the adidas Golden Shoe as the top scorer and the Hyundai Best Young Player award.

Forlan scored five as surprise Uruguay finished fourth.

Mueller edged Forlan, Wesley Sneijder and David Villa for the Golden Shoe on the basis of his three assists. All four players had five goals.

    I agree that Forlan had a great tournamet and Uraguay would have been long gone without him. However, what about Spain's Xavi Hernandez? Everything went through him. He was everywhere looking for the ball. He dictated the pace and pulled all the strings for Spain through out.

    Both Forlan and Mueller were great, these awards are well-deserved. Too bad though that Klose didn't get a chance to play in the consolation game against Uruguay.
