"FIFA and the technical sub-committee confirmed that goal-line technology will be on the agenda of the next annual business meeting of the IFAB in October 2010."

-- A statement from FIFA after its rule-making body, the IFAB, neglected to address the topic of video-replay during a meeting on Wednesday in which it did approve continued experimentation with two extra officials. In addition to the referee and two linesmen, an extra official will monitor each penalty area in UEFA Champions League games as well as in the Europa League (which used the five-person system last season) and other competitions around the world that asked for approval.
