He scored 323 goals in 741 matches for Real Madrid, yet Spanish striker Raul is perhaps prouder of the 16 titles he won with the famed club. Upon signing a two-year contract with Schalke of the German Bundesliga, the 33-year-old expressed a desire for more trophies.

Schalke has given Raul the No. 7 jersey, the same number he wore for Real. It finished second to Bayern Munich last season.

"The Bundesliga has always been interesting, it is one of the strongest European leagues," Raul said. "It will offer attractive soccer. The crowds are appreciative and the stadiums are full."
