Sami Khedira, one of the revelations of Germany's World Cup team, has signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid.
Khedira, who had one year left on his contract with VfB Stuttgart, was a late addition to the German World Cup lineup after captain Michael Ballack was injured. He played all seven matches in midfield and scored the winning goal in the third-place game against Uruguay.
The 23-year-old Khedira, born to a Tunisian father and German mother, made his pro debut with Stuttgart in 2006.
