In honor of Kansas City's 15th MLS team, Sam Pierron, a Wizards season-ticket holder dating back to 1996 and well-known soccer activist, has been traveling to all the club's away games this season and blogging about the trips on BigSoccer. His latest adventure: Salt Lake City, where he was joined by three Cauldronites, members of the Cauldron supporters group.

Here are a few of the things he liked: Red Iguana, a local Mexican chain restaurant, RSLexpress, an in-game concession service that allows fans to text food and beverage orders and get served (for a service charge) at their seats during the game instead of having to wait in long lines at halftime, and the hospitality of the locals.

Pierron's group ran into a members of the RSL's FCD supporters group and was invited to a house party that turned out to be a CD release party for a punk band. They drank, had some excellent barbecue -- "two references to the smoking of meats had us sold," Pierron said -- and, of course, talked soccer.
