[WPS] The Atlanta Beat became the third Women’s Professional Soccer team to fire its coach this season when the expansion team, last in the seven-team league, parted company with head coach Gareth O’Sullivan and his assistant, Robbie Nicholson.

Australian James Galanis was named interim head coach.

The Beat has lost its last three games and won just four of 19 games in its inaugural season.

Chicago dumped Emma Hayes in May, though the Englishwoman has resurfaced as a technical consultant at Washington, where Jim Gabarra's job has been under threat.

Defending champion Sky Blue FC fired head coach Pauliina Miettinen and assistant coach Anne Parnila in July.
