Asian Football Confederation chief Mohamed Bin Hammam ended speculation that he'll challenge incumbent Sepp Blatter for the FIFA presidency, ruling out a bid for Blatter's position and saying he'll support the 74-year-old Swiss, who is seeking a fourth term.

"My aim is to run for the next election of AFC president due at the start of 2011," Bin Hamman said. "Hopefully I will get the full confidence of all the national associations."

The Qatari is seen influential in FIFA matters, particularly on the selection of the hosts of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. His country is competing with the USA in the bid for the 2022 tournament.

Frenchman Michel Platini, the UEFA president, has also ruled out a challenge. He will instead seek a second term as UEFA president.
