According to a source, U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati met with former German national team coach Juergen Klinsmann about the U.S. national team coaching position Klinsmann turned down in 2006 and Gulati then gave to Bob Bradley.
Gulati had met with Bradley on Thursday in California to discuss the 2010 World Cup and the national team situation. Bradley is contracted through the end of the year.
A source told ESPN Insider Klinsmann was interested in the position. In 2006, Klinsmann and Gulati failed to reach agreement on the scope of Klinsmann's control of the national team program.
