[CREIGHTON-TULSA] No. 12 Creighton built up a three-goal lead in the first half and cruised to a 3-1 win over No. 5 Tulsa before 2,431 fans.

Ethan Finlay scored the first two goals, the first after 41 seconds, to help keep the Bluejays undefeated at home (5-0-0).

On Finlay’s first goal, Jose Gomez fed a long lead pass to Dion Acoff, who beat his defender and slotted a low pass to Finlay for a tap-in from justsix yards out.

Finlay struck again in the 23rd minute with a bending shot from 18 yards for his seventh goal of the season.

The Bluejays added a third goal less than fiveminutes later when Acoff beat his defenders and crossed the ball for Andrew Ribeiro to tap in.

“Again, we started off firing on all cylinders,”said first-year Bluejay coach Jamie Clark.  “That start allowed us to grab the lead and make us feel as close to comfortable as you can get in a soccermatch.  I was happy with our energy early on and then the grit we used to hang on at the end when they were pushing us.”

Austin Neil scoredhis eighth goal for Tulsa in the second half — the first goal Creighton has allowed at Morrison Stadium this season.
