[AWARDS] Costa Rican Alvaro Saborio, who scored 12 goals in his first season for Real Salt Lake, was named Newcomer of the Year.

Saborio had most recently played in England at Bristol City on loan from FC Sion of Switzerland when he joined RSL.

He immediately made his presence known in MLS, contributing a club-high 12 goals and four assists for the reigning champions.
